PLC Glossary N-S
Negative Logic - binary logic such that logic 0 represents the ON state. The opposite of positive logic.
Network (industrial) - a system of electronic devices that are connected in order to share information.
Normally Closed Contact - ladder logic symbol that will allow logic flow if input is logic "0" (OFF) when solved.
Normally Open Contact - ladder logic symbol that allow logic flow if input is logic is "1" (ON)
PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) - a form of closed loop control using a mathematical formula to tightly control a continuous output variable, based on a continuous input.
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) - a solid state industrial control system, designed for harsh industrial environemnts, that can be programmed to control a
process or machine.
